JAJA Architects Wins 1st Prize for Mixed-Use Building in Vanløse, Denmark

Young Danish practice JAJA Architects have won the contest for a Mixed-Use Building in Vanløse, Denmark. JAJA Partners, Jan Y. Tanaka, Jakob S. Christensen and Kathrin S. Gimmel, gained international acknowledgement when they became 4th in the contest on building an extension to the main public library in Stockholm, Sweden. They also recived a 2nd prize for the proposal, Urban Transition, on a National Museum in Oslo, Norway. More info and images after the break.

Kulturcenter Mariehøj - WE Architecture + Sophus Søbye Architects

Young practices WE ARCHITECTURE and Sophus Søbye Architects have been awarded with the first prize in the invited competition Kulturcenter Mariehøj, a new cultural center in Denmark´s Rudersdahl municipality. The future Mariehøj cultural center seeks to create open spaces for various activities where interactivity and connections between people have room to grow creatively. Other project collaborators are MASU Planning, Øllgaard Consulting Engineer, Spangenberg & Madsen Consulting Engineer, Hausenberg. More info after the break.

3XN Collaboration Wins Architectural Competition for Frederiksberg Courthouse

A collaborative effort of Danish architects 3XN, engineers Lemming & Eriksson, and landscape architects Schønherr Landskab has won the competition for the expansion of the Courthouse in Frederiksberg, Denmark.

According to 3XN, the new building will be a sculptural and classic structure, which at once expresses a welcoming transparency while maintaining the justice system’s sobriety and seriousness. More Images after the break.
