The main design concept of Vladimir Kaspe’s Cultural Centre was inspired both by functionalism and by the work of Vladimir Kaspé; it was conceived with an acute sense of scale and space within the actual context of La Salle University. The pieces that conform it, are assembled on a structure that comes from a solid volume of concrete that anchors the building to the ground.

The visible structure is materialized by metallic columns that for reasons of equilibrium and function give strength to the building. Meanwhile the façade; composed of lightweight, transparent crystal defines the entrance to the pavilion and marks the limits with its immediate surroundings. The huge open spaces on both the first ground, denominated the basement, and the open aired third level, as well as the intermediate one, covered by a crystal skin, provide light and displaced shadows that convey a sense of tranquility and simplicity.

An exterior ramp, whose ascending character evocates the perpetual human desire for disentangling the immemorial knowledge of life, transports the users to the different spaces within the building. First we have a vault that will house a computing centre destined to be used by the student community. Then the heart of the building, which was especially designed, will contain the richness of the heritage donated by Vladimir Kaspé, furthermore it will be the perfect scenery for the realization of long distance conferences with countries from all over the world.

The ramp comes to an end in the last level, where through a delicate box of glass, a very singular and dilated space is accessed, this space is destined for the exhibition of a wide variety of works of art, photography or sculpture; or, due to its disposition for movement and flexibility, to very diverse activities inherent to education and culture.
